Student Life

Students watching movies at Joe Aillet Stadium on DawgzillaLouisiana Tech students prefer action, adventure, and an all-around fun time. Some of Tech's annual entertainment highlights include Welcome Week, Spring Fling, Homecoming, Greek Week, Miss Tech Pageant, concerts and comedy shows sponsored by the Union Board, and theatrical and musical productions.

Your college experience revolves around student organizations that, like your classes, will help you learn more about your passions and your goals in life. And you'll have fun doing it, whether you're singing a solo in a play, petitioning your fellow students during a Student Government Association meeting or perfecting your plié at a ballet recital.

Sunset at Hideaway Park through TreesTo pass the time when you are not in class, visit the newly renovated and expanded Lambright Intramural Center. Lambright is now a state-of-the art fitness facility that features basketball and racquetball courts, fully-equipped weight rooms, exercise equipment fitted with 15-inch flat-screen TVs, pool tables, paintball facilities, a rock climbing wall, state-of-the-art bowling alley, and two brand new swimming pools.

If outdoor sports are more to your liking, newly renovated tennis courts and intramural athletics fields are just across the street from the Lambright Center. If golf is your game, the Louisiana Tech Golf Course is only a short drive from campus. For frisbee golf, a low ropes course, or just a pavilion to hang out and have a cook-out, Hide-Away Park is conveniently located on campus near Thomas Assembly Center.

Basketball game in Thomas Assembly CenterSpeaking of Thomas Assembly Center, don't forget about Tech athletics! Tech is an NCAA Division I school and current member of Conference USA. Come to the TAC and cheer for the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters as they take on rivals on the Karl Malone Court. In the fall, come to the TAC for tailgating and then go across the street to Joe Aillet Stadium to cheer for Bulldogs football. Nearby, you'll find Patterson Park and J.C. Love Field - the home of Bulldogs baseball.

When it is time to rest, whether after a long day of class or a night of cheering the Dawgs to victory, on-campus students will not have to go far. Conveniently located between the academic and athletic portions of campus, Tech students will find new, contemporary apartment-style housing. For those looking for more traditional college living, historic dormitories are available in the heart of campus.

Of course, college is not just fun and games. When it is time to be serious, Tech offers both a counseling center for students who need support or just help working through the problems of life and a career center to assist in everything from polishing your resume to helping network graduates with potential employers.
