Kinesiology minors
The Department of Kinesiology offers a number of minors that can be added to other majors to help students create more marketable careers.

Minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology
Students can easily add the 21-hour minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology no matter their major. Those not majoring in Kinesiology or Psychology will take the full seven courses (21 total hours).
If a student majors in Kinesiology and Health Sciences, they must take the following courses worth 12 additional hours to complete the minor:
- KINE 420: Sports and Society
- PSYC 202: Advanced General Psychology
- PSYC 308: Human Growth and Development
- PSYC 205: Child Psychology or PSYC 206: Adolescent Psychology or PSYC 208: Developmental Psychology or COUN 400: Introduction to Counseling
If a student majors in Exercise and Health Promotion, they must take the following elective courses worth 12 hours as part of their 120-hour major. No additional classes are required to complete the minor.
- PSYC 102: General Psychology (social/behavioral science elective; prerequisite for PSYC 202)
- PSYC 202: Advanced General Psychology
- PSYC 205: Child Psychology or PSYC 206: Adolescent Psychology or PSYC 208: Developmental Psychology or COUN 400: Introduction to Counseling
- PSYC 308: Human Growth and Development
If a student majors in Psychology, they must take the following 12 elective courses of their 32 elective hours to complete their 120-hour major. No additional classes are required to complete the minor.
- KINE 202: Foundations of Kinesiology
- KINE 316: Sport and Exercise Psychology
- KINE 420: Sports and Society
- PSYC 205: Child Psychology or PSYC 206: Adolescent Psychology or PSYC 208: Developmental Psychology or COUN 400: Introduction to Counseling
